Job Description

We are currently seeking an experience Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team based in Perth on a full time basis.

The Role

  • Industry expertise in the design of,
    • Mine Processing Plant and Infrastructure and or;
    • UG Mine Infrastructure and services in particular De-watering, Mechanical Equipment
  • Technical lead for the mechanical team on various projects
  • Checking and sign off of technical deliverables
  • Review of manufacturer's data reports and vendor documentation
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to the Mechanical Team from concept through to detailed engineering and commissioning.
  • Assist in the technical development and best practice of design solutions including technical standards
  • A track record of business development and client relationships to establish new opportunities within the industry.
  • Business development of new opportunities while build and maintain existing relationships within the Quattro business network
  • Project management and commercial and contractual experience in the delivery of consulting projects
  • Monthly project reporting
  • Drawings/ Design Review
  • Engineering Design and Certification
  • Engineering Calculations
  • Computer Modelling
  • Design Brief Formulation
  • Feasibility studies
  • Long- and short-term scheduling
  • Project Economics budgets and forecasts
  • Management systems development, implementation and audit
  • Other relevant duties that arise or as directed by the Engineering Manager

About You

  • Australian recognised Mechanical Engineering degree that satisfies the entry requirements for Chartered membership with Engineers Australia
  • Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years of previous experience working within an engineering consultant environment or in equipment, piping, process and/or mining-related design.
  • Excellent communication skills when working with cross-function teams.
  • Proven time management and project coordination skills
  • Proficient with SpaceGass, Strand 7 for the analysis and design of structural steel and reinforced concrete structures for Heavy Industry and commercial projects
  • High level of attention to detail and documentation writing
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements and develop solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentations
  • Access to local industry knowledge and contacts
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines over multiple projects
  • Ability and willingness to undertake travel as required to meet Project needs
